Carb Cleaner vs Throttle Body Cleaner: The Difference That Costs Money
They sit on the same shelf, they cost the same, and they are not interchangeable on a modern car.
Carburetor cleaner is built to dissolve hardened fuel varnish out of tiny brass passages. It is aggressive by design, it often contains acetone or toluene, and on bare metal that is exactly right.
